# Payment Passkeys

Payment Passkeys removes passwords, and redirects with biometric authentication, enabling seamless and secure checkout across card-on-file (COF), Click to Pay (C2P), and emerging agentic commerce flows. It is aimed to reducing fraud, increase approval rates and lowering operational friction and its related costs.

### Why Thales to implement Visa & Mastercard Payment Passkeys?

The service leverages Thales’ expertise to abstract the complexity of Visa and Mastercard Payment Passkeys into a single, consistent solution built on the Thales D1 platform and designed around its unified credentials principles. It enables issuers to deploy faster, scale new capabilities with ease, and reduce cost of ownership to build and maintain fragmented integrations.

#### Accelerate agentic commerce readiness

We are shifting Issuers from a complex, multi-endpoint integration be it Tokenization with CTF and MDES ID\&V or Click to Pay to a plug-and-play digital orchestrator. Issuers integrate once and launch new services in just weeks.

#### Unified credential foundation

Beyond silos: we converge vision, expertise and execution in Thales D1 platform, that lets us deploy, scale, and pivot to any new service faster and more cost-effectively.

**Orchestrate Click to Pay and Payment Passkeys**

Aggregators and issuers use BrandMyCard to rapidly design and launch small‑series cards for employers, retailers, or partners. Leveraging a single pre-approved base plastic stock significantly reduces validation cycles and cuts waste.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.payments.thalescloud.io/payment-passkeys-issuers/payment-passkeys.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
